Evening adventure

by Hear Mum Roar on March 10, 2010

Hi, I hope you are well! We’re almost over this flu, and starting to get a little energy back. It’s been a busy day, running errands and such. One of those days where I just wonder where the time went. After we finished dinner, we decided to head over to our local train station which no longer services passengers, but freight trains still stop there. Especially wheat trains, which fill up from these silos:

Our littlest two love to stand up on Mr 3’s bed and look out his bedroom window at the trains throughout the day. Mr 3 yells, ‘train!’ and Missy 1 yells, ‘tain!’ and they run all throughout the house to get to that window in time. Even at the dinner table, Mr 3 can still see his trains as he eats.

The train station has this cool little wagon thingy (sorry, I don’t know what these are called) that the local kids like to play on.

The kids like to sit and play on it, and it even has a tool box with old tools inside!

Unfortunately, I had to crop my eldest daughter out of this photo, as she had her school uniform on (it’s why she isn’t in as many photos as the other two, usually). Instead, I can show you the photos that she took while we were there:

This is the metre on the wagon, and here is a tree she liked:

And one of her mum:

They had so much fun just climbing and pottering around, that when it was time to come home to bed, the two little ones crashed immediately!

Home-made LCMs

March 5, 2010 Daily Life

I’ve tried a few different home-made LCM recipes over the years, but was never 100% happy with them. They were hard to cut, hard to dig out of the tray, not to mention some had too much butter, or too much golden syrup, yech…
Today, I tried my hand at my own, lower-fat, easier way [...]

Keepin’ it real

March 3, 2010 Care

I was just reading a fantastic blog post at Inner Pickle, and felt compelled to write up my two cents on the idea of perfection in the blogging world.
I totally get what she is saying. There are so many blogs I see that can be intimidating. Why? Because I know I haven’t got it together [...]

Slow down

March 1, 2010 Care

Alright, so we are all sick here with the flu. Fevers, coughs, oh, the fun of it all….
And yet, with my stuffy, woozy head, there’s still so much to do around here. Laundry, dishes, you name it, all the boring stuff that I stress about. As the tension built up, and the sick, bored kiddies [...]

As some of you may remember, we have a lovely new kitten named Sookie. Yes, we are die-hard True Blood fans. All of our three children just love him. They want to cuddle, pat and play with him constantly. Of course, we have to step in occassionally to ensure he gets some time to himself [...]

Moved from my old blog, originally posted on Sep 26, 2009

This recipe has been circulating the net for a while now, and I felt it was about time I tried it out. I have naturally curly hair, as do my two eldest children. My third child doesn’t have enough hair yet to ascertain whether or [...]
