It’s been a cherry-ful day for me, today. It all started when we decided to take a little trip to Young to do a few things. We stopped off to pick up our mail first, and to my delight, my Ottobre magazine subscription had arrived!
Knowing full well there was a fabric store at Young, I quickly flipped through the mag and picked out a few designs I’d like to make, but was stumped on what type of fabric I wanted to make them in. We drove past all the cherry farms, and my darling absently commented that we really must buy a cherry pie today, as we’ve been meaning to.
Then came the inspiration. I remembered when I first found Super Kawaii Mama’s blog and fell in love with her cherry dress! And more recently, I spotted Inner Pickle’s op shop find. On both occassions, I immediately fell in love with the fabric, and promised myself to make something in cherry print one day, but thus far, haven’t acted on it. And here I was, in Australia’s cherry capital, for chrissake!
I ended up picking a few fabrics I couldn’t resist, and two cherry pies for tonight’s dessert. And tonight, I sew…

Gorgeous!
Hi, Sal! If you think that’s gorgeous, you should’ve tasted the pie! OMG…beautiful!
