Fingerpaint fun

Ok, so as you know, yesterday I shared how I make fingerpaint easily, and promised to show you how it went.

I decided to take the kids outside to paint on the sliding doors. Always fun…

So we venture outside and find that our regular neighbourly visitor has crapped all over our back cement area:

But hey, what’s a motherhood blog without the mention of poo now and then, right?

Mr 3 didn’t get into it much at first because the chook poo had him dry reaching, but Miss 9, ever eager to get messy, of course got stuck right into it. Missy 1 just wanted to run off to chase the neighbour’s chooks.

Mr 3 eventually got into the thick of it, starting out with a testing of our wares first:

And eventually, the fearless two came up with this:

Later, they decided to mix all the colours together, which was when Missy 1 was rivetted and got stuck right into it as well. Unfortunately, the batteries in my camera ran out part way through this activity, so I can’t show you how much the youngest two loved it. Thankfully, their Daddy was on standby to rush them straight the bath afterward, where they had just as much fun.

If I’d known where our copy paper is stashed, I would’ve let the kids print some paper onto the window, so they could keep it as a memento of all the fun they had, but maybe some other time. Other ways you can use this are getting the kids to smear the paint on the table, and print it to paper if they wish, or painting directly onto the paper.

Whichever way the kiddies decide to do it, it all adds up to fun!

Thanks, Denise, I will go have a look now:)

LOL, Theta! I really wanted to do it over some form of clear surface, where if they wanted to stand behind it, then the kids could feel like they were painting ‘over’ each other. It turned out they didn’t want to do that, but it’s definitely still fun for them to work on something transparent for something totally different:)

Fantastic idea, painting on the glass door. We have a glass dining table and my toddler loves to fingerpaint on it, even when there is paper available!

Yes, Christie, I really like those perspex window/easels in preschools and daycare, but I sourced them online and thought the cost was too much for a home, lol!
