Hello, my dear readers! It has been a while, but as I’ve mentioned before, we’ve moved to the country. We have just gotten off pre-paid internet and now have the internet properly installed at our new home.
So much has been going on in the weeks since I’ve last posted. We all love our new house so much, and can see the potential for a gazillion exciting things we want to do.
Missy 9 loves her new school.
She is settling in beautifully and loves how small it is (34 students in the entire school). She has already been to her first birthday party here, gone to swimming lessons and made some great friends. Most of all, I believe she loves having her very own, huge bedroom and not sharing with her little brother anymore.
Speak of the devil…
Mr 3 is thoroughly enjoying all the newly acquired space he now has. He likes his new room, mostly because he is mad about trains, and gets to see massive wheat trains in his bedroom window, several times a day and often right before he goes to sleep at night. He enjoys our drives to Young, because he gets to see lots of cows, sheep, two camels, and loads of windmills, which are now a new obsession of his. He’s also become really keen to learn to read, write and work with numbers, so he’s been doing lots of Dora the Explorer workbooks, and as you can see, he takes it very seriously.
Unfortunately, he has also been terrorising our newest addition to the family, Sookie.
Ever heard the expression, ‘to kill with kindness’? Well, I think they had my little boy in mind when that term was coined! We are very busy teaching him how to be gentle with him, and when it all gets a bit much for our little moggy, we hide our gorgeous kitten somewhere he can sleep in peace.
Missy 1, who is soon to become a Missy 2 (I know, I know…. it’s a bit much to take in) has loved being in her very own bedroom also, after sharing with Mum and Dad all her life before the move. She is now in a big girl bed (well, more accurately, a mattress on the floor to start with). She adores it, and sleeps so much better at night as a result. Although she seems to end up on the floor more often than actually in bed!
We’ve all caught a couple of bugs here and there, which I think is to be expected when moving to any new town. My fiance has been going downhill with his health again, unfortunately, but we are just doing the rounds with the doctors still, and trying very hard to keep life as slow as we can (although with the kids, this really doesn’t happen!) and remaining positive.
My studio isn’t ready to be used yet, a) because a lot of our boxes that haven’t been unpacked are stored in there and b) I have to get some lighting put in. But it is huge, and I just adore it! Being an old house, there is a lot of work to do, but we are keen to improve it as much as we can, little by little.
In the meantime, I have plenty of space in the dining room to set up my sewing at night, and have been more motivated than ever to create, create, create! The nights I don’t sew, I knit on the lounge.
Above is a photo of one of my projects, which is a ‘block of the month’ run by Homespun Magazine. It is to raise funds for Ovarian Cancer. This is very dear to my heart, as my beloved Gram died of this disease, and more awareness needs to be given to it. The blocks are a mystery every month, but so far, from what I have seen, it will look gorgeous!
I have missed my blogging, and most of all, hearing from my readers, immensely, so it is wonderful to be back here, doing what I love, in a place I love even more. There’s a lot coming up; tomorrow I have Juli W. from Musq guest posting, and my first ever advertorial the following day. Then I will be settling back into my regular blogging.
I can’t wait to hear from everyone again! Please share what you’ve been up to the past few weeks?

Wow a move to the country, that sounds like fun. Very Enid Blyton – we have been reading and listening A LOT to the Enchanted wood. Glad that everyone is settling in nicely.

Hi!! Sorry to hear that your fiances has not been well. I hope he gets better. But glad to hear that your move went so well. The pictures of your kids are adorable and they look very happy. It sounds like a lovely place you’ve moved to!!! Congrats.
Yes, Planning Queen, I know just what you mean! My daughter was reading all those Enid Blyton books about adventures on farms before we left. Not that this is a farm, but we’ll still be having chooks and things like that:)
Thanks, Cool Whip! This move truly has been the best thing we could’ve done for our family
