Evening adventure

Hi, I hope you are well! We’re almost over this flu, and starting to get a little energy back. It’s been a busy day, running errands and such. One of those days where I just wonder where the time went. After we finished dinner, we decided to head over to our local train station which no longer services passengers, but freight trains still stop there. Especially wheat trains, which fill up from these silos:

Our littlest two love to stand up on Mr 3′s bed and look out his bedroom window at the trains throughout the day. Mr 3 yells, ‘train!’ and Missy 1 yells, ‘tain!’ and they run all throughout the house to get to that window in time. Even at the dinner table, Mr 3 can still see his trains as he eats.

The train station has this cool little wagon thingy (sorry, I don’t know what these are called) that the local kids like to play on.

The kids like to sit and play on it, and it even has a tool box with old tools inside!

Unfortunately, I had to crop my eldest daughter out of this photo, as she had her school uniform on (it’s why she isn’t in as many photos as the other two, usually). Instead, I can show you the photos that she took while we were there:

This is the metre on the wagon, and here is a tree she liked:

And one of her mum:

They had so much fun just climbing and pottering around, that when it was time to come home to bed, the two little ones crashed immediately!

I love free play like this with the kids. I can remember doing very similar things as a child.
