!ntentiona! happ!ness – flood season

It’s been a while since I’ve done an intentional happiness post, also known as !!!, run by Momalom.

Intentional Happiness

Momalom !!! Bad Mommy Moments !!!

It’s been raining heavily here; flooding in fact. I’m happy that it’s stopped, and now instead of our yard looking like a creek, we can see the ground again

Even though it’s winter, and I was going to try potty training Missy 2 in the springtime…

She has decided to copy her big brother, and has started to use the potty a little bit with success!!!

Why would this make me happy? Well, she’s my last child, and this is marking an end of an era. Any mums would get what I mean: one day there will be no more nappies, bottom wiping, and so on. Their independance is my freedom…

With all this rain, our playroom flooded….

…and what made me happy is that it’s looking like our insurance will cover it. So very happy about that. Yes, my kids made a button mess before the flood, we figured it’d be easier to pick them all up after the floor’s not a big puddle.

What else has made me happy? Our not-so-little-anymore Daisy.

And technically, Missy 2′s snatching hand…Cough.

A few nights ago, when all the kids were asleep, my man went out shopping at night. As Daisy lay at my feet, she heard his footsteps outside the door on his return. Without hesitation, she jumped up and barked her little heart out. So it’s !!! for knowing she’ll make a fantastic little guard dog for our home.

Next !!! is for fish oil. I’m happy that for the past few months, we’ve gotten Mr 4 and Missy 9 back on them again. I’m mostly happy Mr 4 is back on them. Ahem. I was going to take another shot with more open eyes, but he gulped down his capsule and I thought, meh.

!!! for Sookie the cat, for being the best little mouse catcher there ever was.

!!! for my fiance, who always makes me happy.

We’ve both had a nasty flu the past few days. Yesterday, he got to sleep it off all day, and today, he took up the slack and let me sleep all day when my fever hit. He makes me happy when he pulls a silly smile for the camera, and he makes me smile when he takes care of this:

He found the best, nicest butcher around here, with the nummiest rissoles I’ve ever tasted. And because we’re both sick, he was even kind enough to go out and get chips to go with it, just to make life easier during this phase. Mmm…. comfort food…

Missy 9, my smart little girl, for getting credits in two uni exams, and for all the help she willingly and un-complaining-ly (?) gives to everyone in the family, everyday. We’re so proud of you, sweetheart!!!

Buds on the granny smith apple tree…

Our gardener told us that this tree, being a couple of years old, should bear fruit for us this year! And of course, !!! for having such a brilliant guy help us to make the backyard into something better-looking that in years to come, will provide us with lots of fresh fruit, vegetables and eggs. And !!! for knowing our children get to watch and learn this whole process and learn first hand where food really comes from, and to derive such pleasure from such a simple source.

!!! for the free irises our gardener got for us, because someone else just didn’t want them. Irises are so special to me. Iris was my beloved, late grandmother’s name. These are just sitting in this bed over winter, we’re going to work out where they should go later. !!! for not having to water any of the garden during this flood! Can’t complain about droughts, that’s for sure.

A big !!! to CK for sendingĀ  me out these cute little stickers with the !!! on them. I still think you should sell them.

What are your !!!’s for the week?

Lol, ck! He’s beautiful, isn’t he? We think we’ve worked out that he might be a breed called the Australian Mist. Very cute and fluffy.
